eQHealth Solutions is pleased to be selected by the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) to provide services for the ColoradoPAR (prior authorization request) program, effective September 1, 2015. Together, eQHealth and HCPF will serve Medicaid members by focusing on and implementing HCPF’s mission to improve health care access and outcomes for the people we serve while demonstrating sound stewardship of financial resources.

The ColoradoPAR Program reviews PARs for the following services and supplies: 
    Behavioral Therapy
 Diagnostic imaging
 Durable medical equipment (DME)
    Habilitative Speech Therapy - Adult
 Inpatient out-of-state admissions
 Medical services including transplant and bariatric surgery
 Physical & occupational therapy
 Pediatric long term home health (LTHH)
 Private duty nursing
 Synagis®
 Vision  

Please note: For the above categories, all PARs for clients age 20 and under are reviewed according to EPSDT guidelines.

ColoradoPAR does not review services for Behavioral Health Services, Dental/Orthodontia, Pharmacy, and Transportation.   Please visit the Department’s website for information for additional information on these services at https://www.colorado.gov/hcpf/provider-help

Important Information Regarding PAR Revisions - Tuesday, April 25, 2017

On March 1st, 2017 Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid Program) changed fiscal agents from Xerox Healthcare to Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE).


eQHealth Solutions' role in the prior authorization request (PAR) process remains the same as it was before the transition – to review PARs for medical necessity and to render appropriate determinations (e.g. approve, deny).

As many providers are aware, the new HPE system is continuing to experience issues processing PAR revisions. (A PAR revision is any change made to an approved PAR, such as a date change or a coding/units change.) As a result, corresponding PARs approved after March 1st do not reflect approved changes.


We understand that this issue is preventing many providers from billing properly, and we are working with both HPE and the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (HCPF) to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.  We kindly ask all providers for their continued patience until the issue is resolved.  Please continue to check www.ColoradoPAR.com for updates.


In the meantime, please continue submitting your PARs as well as your PAR revisions through eQSuite®, as eQHealth Solutions will continue to review them for medical necessity.  You may also check eQSuite® to see whether your PARs and/or revisions have been approved.
